A Creative Retreat for Experienced Artists.

Artist Week SAGA

For 2026 we offer two Artist Weeks at Saga, our creative haven and Workshop Center in Norway. One week in March and one in September.

In March you can expect the weather to be the end of winter season, and in September it´s the beginning of fall. Both with their own unique charm.

The Artist Week is a week dedicated to fostering creativity, collaboration, and growth. We invites former participants, our instructors and experienced artists to spend a week at our facility, outside a workshop.

No instructor or assignments! This is a week with space to focus on your projects while enjoying the tranquility and inspiration of Saga’s surroundings and beautiful nature.

FACILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES

  • Participants will have full access to Saga’s facilities:

  • A daylight studio with seamless white backdrop.

  • A darkroom for analog and experimental photography.

  • High-quality printers and bookmaking tools.

  • A classroom with projector and whiteboard for optional presentations and feedback.

Saga also provides support in arranging models, scouting inspiring local settings, and connecting with the Inderøy’s community to enhance artistic projects.

DAILY AMENITIES

We create a nurturing environment with daily breakfast, and dinner, as the two meeting point during the day for our guests. To balance work and relaxation you can enjoy our living room and extended photo book library. We have also included a session in our sauna during your stay.

'The Artist Week at SAGA was incredibly beneficial for my new work in progress. It provided exactly what I needed at this stage: a retreat from daily distractions, space for deep concentration, and an inspiring environment. The location and surrounding landscape were not only beautiful but also creatively stimulating. What made the experience even more valuable was the presence of fellow artists, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. Elizabeth's thoughtful care and attention allowed me to fully immerse myself in the creative process without worrying about the day-to-day. That week gave me the rare opportunity for introspection and the freedom to explore and develop new imagery. It was a pivotal moment for this project, and I’m truly grateful for the space and support SAGA offered.’ - Sophie Fauchier
