Each meeting will include opportunity for critique of your images with a view to creating a tight edit of your work. There will also be discussion of your writing and in class workshopping of your text. Extensive discussion will examine the sequencing of text and image to create unexpected moments in your narrative, as well as other design and layout considerations.  All forms of writing are encouraged from prose to poetry. Meeting once a week, classes will be divided between lectures and class critique, with time allocated for individual meetings with Sal.

This is a class for experienced photographers who are looking to develop their project, using photography in combination with the written word.  Experience with Adobe Indesign is helpful but not essential.

This online course is also a great preparation if you want to join Sal’s 5 day workshop in Writing and Photography happening at SAGA in the fall of 2021.
