Welcome to our Online Course offers:

CYANOTYPE & ALBUMEN PRINTING

with Jill Enfield

Learn to create beautiful cyanotype and albumen prints of your work. The Cyanotype process will give you unique shades of cyan-blue prints. Albumen varies a great deal depending upon the treatment given during processing, but most often it is a brown coloured print. It can resemble a platinum/palladium print, but is less expensive in the making.

Both processes stem from the 1840’s to 1850’s, and both processes consist of creating a light sensitive emulsion that  is brushed onto paper, fabric, glass or wood, and exposed in sunlight or with UV light. You will also learn to tone the prints using non-toxic chemicals.
