NORDphotography started as an idea on a workshop with the acclaimed american photographer Joyce Tenneson in 2008. The founder of NORDphotography, Elisabeth Nordeng Aanes, worked as an assistant for Tenneson in 2004-2006, and started arranging workshops for her former employer after she returned to her home country Norway, in 2006. Up until 2008 Aanes was focusing on her own photography, but once a year she brought Nordic photographers to Tenneson’s studio in Maine for a week long workshop, and every year she was astounded to see the great benefit the participants had after spending some days with a successful and sharing photographer like Tenneson.
In 2008 Aanes decided to use her connections in America and started arranging workshops with inspiring and engaging teachers like Tenneson to the growing nordic photo market, and NORDphotography was a reality. In 2010 NORDphotography's teaching team grew to include creative forces like Cig Harvey, Ron Haviv, Claire Rosen, Øyvind Hjelmen, Susan Hayre Thelwell, Jonathan Laurence, Mat Thorne.
In 2011 NORDphotography plan to open it’s first workshop-center in Norway. NORDphotography welcomes photographers from all over the world who wants to be inspired, engaged, uplifted, renewed, energized, and learn new skills to our workshop.
"NORDphotography aim to inspire photographers to further growth and development of their talent by arranging workshops and events that makes a difference. We team up with internationally acclaimed photographers and resources in the photo field, to give you an unforgettable learning experience. Our goal is to inspire and to help further the carrier of talented photographers"
Yours Sincerely,
Elisabeth Nordeng Aanes
